The Blissetts December 2011 Mini-Tour

We're rounding off 2011 with a few gigs in December. First up is a support slot with the mighty Crashed Out from Jarrow. The gig is at The Grosvenor in Stockwell, south London on Saturday 3rd December. Crashed Out are currently on tour supporting the release of their new split album with punk legends the Angelic Upstarts. Tickets are £7 in advance from the web address on the flyer below or available on the door if you're lucky.

Mayhem In St Albans

Next up is our first appearance at The Horn in St Albans on Thursday 8th December. This gig has been organised by One Man Moshpit Productions, better known as our mates Brocker! It's a charity bash with all proceeds going to Cancer Charity Grove House. It's been a while since we've played with Brocker so expect this to be a fairly messy affair. Also on the bill are Ministers Dead and the former Casket Hecklers frontman Joseph D Mutiny who will be doing a solo set so get down to St Albans and show your support for some top bands and support a good cause.

Last Stop Welwyn Garden City?

At time of writing, the last gig of 2011 will be at one of our favourite stomping grounds, the Green Room in Welwyn Garden City on Saturday 10th December for a night of Xmas punk rock. This gig also features St Albans loons Brocker, The Bleach Boys and Jesus Bruiser. Cost TBC. Details of all gigs on the live page.

CAC Festival - Belated Cheers!

Thanks to everyone that turned up to see us at the Cheap As Chips festival back in August. It was, without a doubt, one of the barmiest things we've ever been involved with. Top bands for us were Ego's At The Door and Skurvi.

We're The Blissetts CD Back In Stock

The CD is a compilation of the singles released by the current line up, compilation tracks and a studio version of The God Delusion that is exclusive to this release. Also included are 4 live tracks from the gig with the UK Subs at the Hertford Corn Exchange back in November last year.

This should keep you all happy until we record the album later this year. We're currently writing a few new tracks and may have one ready for the Cheap As Chips Festival in a few weeks time.

The Blissetts Hit South London and Boston Punk 4 The Homeless Festival

The Blissetts make their first appearance south of the river at legendary punk venue The Grosvenor in Stockwell on Thursday 26th May 2011. Playing along side Bloody Heels and The Reactors, you may like to know that this is a FREE GIG!! Now how often does that happen? So shuffle down to South London for a pint with yer mates The Blissetts! Full details on the live page.

We've also been confirmed for the Punk 4 The Homeless DIY 'Cheap As Chips' Festival, just outside of Boston, that's Boston in Lincolnshire, not the one in Massachusetts. The Festival takes place on Saturday and Sunday 20th/21st August 2011 and it's only £20 including camping. Near on 26 bands have been confirmed so far, including our mates Oiz II Men, Skurvi, Freedom Faction, Born To Destruct and tons more! So get yerselves down there. This festival is in aid of Casa Alianza who feed homeless street children, so it's simple, buy a ticket and go fucking mental to a load of top punk bands and the kids get to eat! If you don't go, why not click the Casa Alianza link and make a donation. (Posted 15/5/11)

PUNK 4 JAPAN BENEFIT ALBUM

It's impossible not to have been touched by recent events in Japan and if you don't know what's been going on then where the fuck have you been?

After the horror of the 9.0 magnitude earthquake and the resulting tsunami the people of Japan are now facing the near certainty of nuclear meltdown. Urgent supplies and aid are needed and you can make donations via the British Red Cross. Click here to go to the Red Cross website.

Our mates at The ICM have, in a matter of days, put together a benefit CD with 100% of the profits going to the Red Cross.

Given the speed at which this has been put together, it's pretty damn spectacular. a stunning 83 bands have donated tracks to what amounts to 4 CD's worth of music over 2 volumes with a 3rd and final volume expected to be released next Wednesday. You can download it all, including the complete artwork for only £6!!!!!!! That works out at just over 7p a track!!! You can get it at www.punk4japan.com.

The CD includes a brand new recording of The Blissetts live favourite 'Nothing To Lose (But Our Chains)' which you won't be able to get anywhere else! As well as us, the album also features our mates The JellyFiends, Freedom Faction, Skurvi and tons of other local bands as well as bands from the USA, Canada and Portugal amongst others.

On a personal note I'd like to add that I find this personally fucking heartwarming that so many bands are donating tracks and doing it for the right reasons rather than worrying about their appearance fee and making money out of it. The spirit of punk lives on. (Posted 18/3/11)

Watford Punk 4 The Homeless Benefit Gig In April

The Blissetts will be playing at the Punk 4 The Homeless benefit gig at The Flag in Watford on Saturday 30th April 2011. Organised by our mates The ICM and Choke On This, the gig will be an ALL DAYER with FREE ENTRY and donations will be most welcome.

Check out the flyer on the right for the line up which now also includes Brighton nutters Skurvi.

Punk 4 The Homeless raise money for the Casa Alianza charity which helps street children in Central America find a better life. You only have to look back at the Candelária Massacre in Brazil where Brazilian Police shot and killed 'unwanted' street children to see that they need our help to keep away from killer cops. Check out the Blaggers ITA 'Oxygen' video on youtube to see just what these kids have to face.

Death Of Freedom/Liars Single Sold Out

We've sold out of the CD single of The Death Of Freedom and Liars, Cheats, Thieves And Politicians, we will have more available soon.

Green Room Line Up Confirmed

Now that our mate Mungo, promoter at the Green Room in Welwyn Garden City is out of hospital and on the mend, we now have the full line up for the gig at the Green Room on Friday 25th February.

As well as us, there is also local Welwyn punks Bozwood, Minister's Dead, featuring Matt from the Bleach Boys and Nothing who get a special shout out for designing the flyer and saving me a load of time and effort, cheers guys.

It's £4 on the door or £3 if you print off the flyer and hand it in on the night, so get printing!

The Blissetts On Da Fuckin' Radio!

Our song 'Dumped on the Scrapheap' from the ICM's 'Don't Just Stand There' compilation CD got it's first airplay last week thanks to the good folk at local station I Love Henry and a review too cortesy of the Studs and Punks website.

Cheers All.

Westmill Without The Rain part 3 - The Blissetts Late Addition

The Blissetts have been added to the line up for the Kev Aid 3 gig, aka 'Westmill Without The Rain part 3' at the Hertford Corn Exchange on Friday 11th February 2011.

The Blissetts were one of the few bands that managed to play on the Friday of last year's Westmill Farm Festival just before it pissed down with rain and left the stage too dangerous for bands to play on. Kev, the festival promoter, was left seriously out of pocket so these gigs should help make ends meet. We played at the first benefit gig back in September 2010 and are chuffed to have been invited back.

The gig kicks off at 7.30pm and runs until 1am with Kev spinning discs, or should we say pressing buttons on his iPod, until 1am. £6 on the door.

Get Well Soon Mungo

We'd like to wish Mungo, promoter at the Green Room in Welwyn a speedy recovery and hope he gets out of hospital soon. Mungo put us on when no other fucker was interested, so get well soon mate!!

The Blissetts First Gig of 2011

Our first gig of 2011 will take place at Shades Social Club in Hertford on Saturday 5th February. This is the re-arranged date to make up for the one that was snowed off in December. Same bill and details as before.

The Blissetts On YouTube

We've finally got our video page up and running and cunningly called it The BBC - The Blissetts Broadcasting Communications. There are a few videos from the UK Subs gig (cheers Sally!) back in November and a couple of oldies. So watch 'em here if you can't be bothered to go to YouTube. (Posted 17/1/11)
