The Harder, The Better Vol 11

Destruction Day To Appear On U.S. Compilation CD

The title track of our single, Destruction Day, is set to be included on the new compilation CD from the American based record label Turkey Vulture Records.

Set to be released in early 2006, the compilation, titled 'The Harder, The Better' Volume 11, will feature 26 bands from around the world including The Blissetts. The compilation is also a benefit for the good folk of New Orleans, who as you know (If you don't, where have you been?) recently had their city smashed to pieces by Hurricane Katrina. We are proud to lend our track to such a worthy cause, 'cos let's face it, George W didn't give much of a toss, now did he? .(Posted by Paul 13/12/05)

All Quiet On The Blissetts Front?

Hope to see you there! (Posted by Paul 26/11/05)

A Local Gig For Local People

As you may or may not know, due to the problems we are having finding gigs in the locality, we were planning to organise our own gig with other local bands at a venue in Watford. We have put this idea on hold as we are busy writing new material and also have a few gigs in London coming up and not forgetting we did the low key gig in Watford last week. With the silly season fast approaching, most venues are booked up with xmas parties etc and with people having to suffer the annual work xmas do, we decided to put the idea on hold until the new year when we can give it our full attention. (Posted by Paul 21/10/05)

Cheers!

Thanks to everyone who made the trip to see us at Basement on friday, we had a great time and from the conversations afterwards, we know you did too! The new stuff went down well, as did the older stuff that we had recently re-written. We will be confirming another gig in north London within the next few days so check back soon for full details, mailing list bods, we will get it all emailed to you as soon as we know ourselves. Cheers. (Posted by Paul 16/10/05)

Do You Have A Faulty Destruction Day CD?

It has been brought to our attention that some of the Destruction Day CD singles are faulty. If your CD has crackling sounds all over it please get in touch by clicking here and we will sort you out with a new one. This problem has been caused by faulty CD's and is only thought to affect CD's numbered from 15 to 32, however, not all are faulty. (Posted by Paul 7/10/05)

The Blissetts Live Again!

It's no secret that we have had problems getting gigs, especially around the Watford area, so we have decided to do another low key gig at Basement Studios on Friday 14th October, please check the gigs page for more details. We are also looking into the possibility of hiring a venue and putting on a gig ourselves along with one or two other local bands around December time if anyone want's to get involved in any way please get in touch now. We will keep you updated on any new developments. (Posted by Paul 29/9/05)

New Material

We have been busy toiling away in our rehearsal room writing new stuff, we have two new songs, 'Unity' and 'The Devil Commands' finished and ready to go. We think they are the best we have written so far and we still have another one or two in the pipeline. (Posted by Paul 29/9/05)

Destruction Day cover

Destruction Day CD Single

We are currently sorting the artwork for the Destruction Day CD single and hope to have it available by the end of the month. The single will feature Destruction Day, Words - Action = Nothing and Bone Idol. We are going to limit the single to 100 copies which will be numbered, so any future pressings of the single will have slightly different artwork, no number and no special hidden track that we ain't telling you about. Preview The new CD!

We now have preview sample tracks of the songs we recorded at the recording session a few weeks back. The tracks are available on the downloads page so check 'em out! The old Basement demo tracks have now been removed. We hope to have the new CD out in a month or so, more details soon. (Posted by Paul 21/7/05)

Recording Session Update

We recorded six tracks down at Sanctuary Studios on Saturday 2nd July, the tracks were:

  • DESTRUCTION DAY
  • WORDS - ACTION = NOTHING
  • MY PET GOAT
  • BONE IDOL
  • NOTHING TO LOSE (But Our Chains)
  • AMERICAN EMPIRE

We are currently in the final stages of mixing the CD and will probably release a CD of four of the above tracks, more details on that in the next week or two. We didn't get to record the crowd favorite 'Blissetts In Da House' as we ran out of time in the original recording session. We are currently writing more new material and plan to record it along with 'Blissetts....' in a few months time. (Posted by Paul 12/7/05)

Blissetts Live @ Finnegans Wake, Ealing, 9th July

We just wanted to thank everyone who made the journey down to Ealing on Saturday. We are aware that some people had some difficult journeys (for obvious reasons) down to the venue via the tube system and also faced nightmare trips home. We also got lost several times. We know that everyone enjoyed the gig and we want to say thanks again!. (Posted by Paul 12/7/05)

Saturday's Gig Is On!

We have no plans to cancel our gig at Finnegans Wake, Ealing Broadway on Saturday 9th July despite the recent events in central London. These bastards thrive on fear and we will play no part in giving them the satisfaction. We have spoken to the promoter and everything is still on. Peace. (Posted by Paul 8/7/05)

Recording Imminent

We go into the studio again this weekend and will hopefully leave with a vastly improved recording than the last half arsed attempt. We plan to record our entire set minus the covers. We havn't yet discussed which tracks we will release for your listening pleasure as we want to see how well the recording session actually goes first. We then book in again for the mixing session. (Posted by Paul 28/6/05)

The Blissetts Live!

We are playing at a new rock club at Finnegans Wake, Ealing Broadway. Check the gig page for the full details. We hope that many of you will come and join us, we will occupy the middle slot and will be on at 9pm. Anyone wanting directions or tube details please email me and I'll sort it out for you. The Blissetts Live - Basement Studios, 3rd June '05

On 3rd June 2005 The Blissetts performed for the first time in front of an audience. A friendly crowd gathered at Basement Studios, Watford. The anticipation was high after the release of demos back in April and hearing the songs live did not disappoint. With the addition of three new songs, the set was well received. The musicians were tight, with Paul on vocals being a prominent front man. It was also great to see Dave do a guitar solo on the new song 'Bone Idle'. After a frantic set, The Blissetts obliged the crowd with an encore of their four favourite songs. It was a great gig and can't wait to see them again soon!! (Posted by Jo & Luke 9/6/05)

New Date For Recording Session Confirmed

The Blissetts recording session that was cancelled for 25th June, has now been rearranged for Saturday 2nd July at Sanctuary Studios, Rickmansworth. (Posted by Paul 9/6/05)

We would like to thank everyone who made the trip to see us last week at Basement Studios, we know from talking to you all at the pub after the gig that you all enjoyed it. We are pleased to now have the first gig of the year under our belts and we are planning more. More details soon. (Posted by Paul 5/6/05)

No Pasaran!!

This is as far back as The Blissetts history goes on this website. Yes there is a bit more, but after much scratching of the head I've decided that it's a waste of time for me to dig it out and re-design it, as much as it's a waste of time for you to still be sitting here reading it. So, I'll leave you with this:-

Our history starts here, just after The Blissetts first ever gig has taken place. You can see how the band has transformed over the years from a band of mates (whom sadly won't have anything to do with each other now) making a racket in a rehearsal room has turned into the beast that it is today. Having supported some of the biggest punk names on the planet, met fantastic people and made friends from all over the world to the honour of supporting and then getting up onstage and fronting The Blaggers, suffering the heartache, trials, tribulations and some damn right disasters along the way. We stand strong and have upheld our beliefs since day one.

There are people out there who hate us and go out of their way to make things difficult and see that we get passed over for gigs, mostly sad little people who have never even taken the time to talk to us, instead, just writing us off. The fact that we are still here annoys the shit out of them. So, to them, all we have to say is this:-

WE'RE THE BLISSETTS, WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU?

Paul - Watford - February 2016.
