2012 Xmas Gigs

The Blissetts will be finishing off 2012 with 2 gigs just before Christmas. We play at The Grosvenor, Stockwell, South London on Thursday 20th December with our fellow senors Brocker and Sub Machine. This gig is FREE and the beer will be flowing freely. The second gig is on Saturday 22nd December at the Hertford Corn Exchange in Hertford. Tickets are £5 in advance and we've been told they're selling quickly. This gig is part of Strummerville, to remember legendary Clash frontman Joe Strummer on the 10th Anniversary of his death.

Big Xmas News

Over Christmas we will finalise the details for our first album, provisionally titled 'Fanning The Flames Of Discontent' and will post them up on this website around that time.

CAC Fest Bus Trip

Cheers to all those that attended one of the barmiest days in the life of The Blissetts and Brocker. Cheers!!!

London Shoreditch Gig Cancelled

Our gig at The Shoreditch in London for the Free Association on Thursday 23rd August 2012 has been cancelled as the venue no longer want live music in their boozer on weekdays. Dan the promoter had hoped to re-arrange the gig for the night before the original date at the Water Rats in Kings Cross. Unfortunately, due to pretty much our entire band being away on holiday we weren't able to make it happen. It's a shame as he had lined us up to play with our mates Toxins, so it would have been a belter of a gig. We should have a new date confirmed in the next week or so. Appologies to everyone that planned to attend.

Cheap As Chips Festival 2

The Blissetts are confirmed for an all-dayer version of the Cheap As Chips Festival that was cancelled a few months back after the venue owners decided to shut up shop.

The event, in aid of Punk 4 The Homeless will take place on Saturday 13th October 2012 at The Gathering Rock Bar in Sutton Bridge which is just north of Peterborough.

There are loads of bands on the bill including our favourite loons, the Dole Queue Heroes and those pesky kids from St Albans, Brocker. Local camping is available so drop us a line if you want camping details

Anti-Pasti Gig - Cheers!

Cheers to everyone that supported us at our recent gig in St Albans with Anti-Pasti. We made a ton of new friends and shifted loads of CD's. Thanks to Pete for putting us on. I think everyone will agree that it was a blinder of a night and Anti-Pasti were well worth the 17 year wait! It was also great to catch up with some old Blissetts fans and make a load of new ones too. Thanks again.

The Blissetts To Support The Legendary ANTI-PASTI

We have been confirmed as support to 1980's punks Anti-Pasti's first gig in 17 years. This is a low key pre-Rebellion Festival warm up for Anti-Pasti and will take place at The Horn in St Albans on Tuesday 31st July. Tickets are £15 in advance, very limited and selling fast so get yours NOW!

Anti-Pasti released several albums and singles in the 80's including a split 12" with The Exploited. The Blissetts vocalist Paul saw them in 1995 at the sadly defunct London Astoria with the English Dogs, Chaos UK and the Anti-Nowhere League.

Cheap As Chips Festival Off

Sadly it looks like the Punk 4 the Homeless 'Cheap As Chips' Festival is off this year after a seriously difficult search for a new venue. With a festival and 3 day line up ready to go, Eagle has struggled to find a nevenue willing to put it on. However, rumours suggest that a smaller version of the festival may take place down south later on in the year so fingers crossed!

More Gigs On The Way

The Blissetts will be supporting the Sex Pistols Experience at the Hertford Corn Exchange on Monday 4th June 2012 in a punk rock (anti) celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Tickets are £10 in advance and the same price on the door. We're a last minute addition after the original support band dropped out.

Back In St Albans

We're playing at The Horn in St Albans on Saturday 9th June with our mates Brocker, Sink or Swim and one more band TBC.

Balstock 2012 Confirmed

We're confirmed for this years Balstock Festival, taking place at tons of venues throughout Baldock, Herts between 7th - 9th September. We're playing at the Brandles venue on Friday 7th September with Hostages For Smack, Shithouse, Overload and our mates The Bleach Boys. We think this gig is free but we'll let you know as soon as we have the full details.

Cheap As Chips 2012 Off??

The owners of Velvets Nightclub, where the 2011 Cheap As Chips Festival was held, have reclaimed their venue from the current management team who helped make last years event a success. All events at Velvets have now been cancelled. Eagle, the Cheap As Chips organiser, is currently looking for a new venue but if this can't be achieved in the next 2 weeks or so, the event will have to be cancelled. Boooo!!

What The Hell Is Going On?

After a blinding end to 2011 with several fantastic gigs with ourselves and Brocker, Ministers Dead, The Bleach Boys and Jesus Hooligan we thought we'd take it easy over the Xmas period and get ready for the big Punk 4 the Homeless/Animals gig in Stoke in January 2012. Only for our drummer Ajay to come down with a potentially serious and/or fatal heart condition. Obviously we had to pull the gig so Brocker played in our place. As gutted as we were, there was no way we could risk Ajay's health. So here we are halfway through April 2012 and the heart Specialists still don't wkow what the hell is going on! Anyway, Ajay is back in full on 'don't give a monkeys' mode and we will make our first live appearance of 2012 at The Flag in Watford on Saturday 21st April 2012, courtesy of The ICM. Also on the bill are Ministers Dead and The Jellyfiends whom we haven't done a gig with since 2007. £4 on the door and an 8pm kick off - BE THERE!
